Are We West of the Pecos Yet?

The truth about Judge Roy Bean (Hanging Judge Roy Bean) is probably a bit less dramatic than the legend. One legend tells of his fining a dead man $40, which was all that were found in the body’ pockets. One story says the money went to buy drinks for the jury, another says it went as a fee to the grave digger. Regardless, his legend as a hanging judge (much disputed) lives on. He ruled with a law book and common sense. Most of the fines he collected went to improve the community of Langtry, Texas and the residents were supportive of him.

But I’d like to see a Judge Roy Bean on the Supreme Court right now. As the only justice.

As of today, more than four hundred lawsuits have been filed challenging his administration’s policies, with a significant uptick in activity from May through August 2025. These cases, brought by state attorneys general, nonprofits, unions, media organizations, and individuals, primarily target executive orders on immigration, diversity programs, transgender rights, federal workforce changes, and funding reallocations. Federal judges have issued over 250 orders, halting or limiting policies in at least 150 cases, while the administration has appealed dozens, including eighteen to the Supreme Court.

Can you imagine the costs to us taxpayers because of these lawsuits? It must be at least in the tens of millions of dollars. Our taxes at work. And, in my not so humble opinion, Almost all of it wasted on nuisance lawsuits.

The most egregious seems to be the fights against sanctuary state and city policies that are clearly illegal and detrimental to the wellbeing of United States citizens.

After Joe Biden’s disastrous welcome of approximately eleven million illegal aliens during his administration, our nation is swamped with people who should not be here. And the lunatic, “progressive”, Democrat clowns want to keep them here. Yeah, I know there are some humanitarian cases where granting asylum might be justified, but the large majority came here to take jobs away from citizens instead of fixing their own country’s problems. That is NOT a legitimate reason for asking for asylum under our laws. It has never been.

President Trump’s efforts to rid the nation of racist Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies is another example. I lived through the 1960s as the Civil Rights Act was fought over and finally signed into law. I lived through the race riots that were fairly commonplace in large cities and the concurrent Anti-War demonstrations going on. The biggest mistake made during those years was to make it more economic sense for women to have children without the benefit of marriage. The caused the rise of the term “Welfare Queens” who figured the more children they had, the more welfare payments they received. It also led to the term “Baby Daddy”, which I personally despise. But overall, the diminishment of racial preferences did occur. Not completely and not everywhere all at once. But the level went down … until Obama. ‘Nuf said.

Right now, these idiot, mostly Obama-appointed judges, and the people who pay for the lawsuits are devoid of common sense. They are anti-American to the core. And so are the sanctuary state governors and city mayors and councils who decide to waste yours and my tax dollars to prevent valid deportations by interfering and non-cooperation with DHS and ICE.

We need a Judge Roy Bean to not only invalidate the lower court rulings that prevent the Constitutional actions of keeping our sovereignty viable. We need a judge that would not only rule against them but fine or otherwise punish both the agencies that brought the suit and the lunatic judges that rule in their favor.

It is time for us to have our Law West of the Pecos across the entire country.
